HOW DO YOU USE YOUR WINCH? CONTEST WINNERS AND ENTRIES

Posted by Brent from Steinbach Canada on February 18, 2007
I use my winch to help get my big tank of a Rhino up and around objects that I can't drive under due to the size. My picture is of a detour I had to make to get around a fallen tree on the river ride we were doing.
Thanks
Brent

I have had WARN winches on my truck and my 4x4 ATV. Through all the mud, the hills, and the woods I have come to rely on the winch for whenever I get in trouble. Whether it has been deep mud, tough climbs, or anything, I know the WARN winch will be there to get me out if I need it. Thanks!

I came over a small log in the trail and the ATV dropped into this muddy hole. I was surprised but thanks to my WARN winch I was able to get out with ease.

Plowing snow or winching my way in to where we hunt for large Alaskan moose or cariboo or just out playing and knowing if I need it I have my WARN winch to get me out of any situation I get into.

I own a 2002 Yamaha Beartracker 250 2x4 and I have a WARN 2.5ci winch that I just got after my previous Warn A2000 winch died after having it a little over 4 years. I use the winch to raise and lower my plow in the winter months then during the rest of the year I use it to pull myself out when I get buried in mud or others who need a helping hand. When using it for plowing my winch sees a lot of abuse because I plow half a dozen driveways.

I use my WARN winch for everything that requires brute force and reliability. I pull my quad and recover others out of mud handlebar deep. I have used it to pull trees out of my yard, plow snow and even get my truck out of a snow drift. I would be lost without my WARN 2.5ci, the best and most reliable winch even after being submerged in mud and water on every ride. I might add the best customer service of any company I have dealt with. I called about my contactor recall and gave my information and had a new one at my door a week later no charge. Any other company would fight tooth and nail then at least charge for shipping. Great product & great service WARN is #1

My friends and I often ride in the Larose Forest located east of Ottawa, Ontario in Canada. Here are some pictures of us using our WARN winches to get each other out of some mud.

I am disabled, and I have used a WARN winch since 1993. It is a great tool, it helps me move almost anything I need help with. I cannot do without one now, from moving fence panels, to getting me out of trouble when I get stuck. It is one tool that I do not know what I would do without because it is dependable, powerful, and very sturdy. I am looking forward to adding the wireless remote control because it is still a little hard not being able to walk.

Our WARN winch story is from riding at Finger Lakes State Park near Columbia, Missouri. My son rides a Honda Rancher and he kept getting stuck in the atomic mud that is in the park. Well, I kept having to slosh out to hook up a tow strap to pull him out and I was not having as good a time as I should have been having. We began to call it "one stays clean and one gets dirty", in other words I had to keep my Honda Rincon in a clean spot to pull him out. So I bought him a WARN 1.5 winch for a Christmas present that year, we mounted it up and now he can pull himself out of the messes he gets into. I will admit there have been a couple of occasions where he has pulled me out so it has been a great addition and investment.

We were in Upstate New York when we found a deep mud pit. My friend Kevin went first with his Kawasaki Prairie 4x4. He went halfway through and got stuck, the water/mud was up to the seat! So his dad went in after him on his Polaris Sportsman 500, he also got stuck. So I went in on my Honda Rancher 2x4! I had ITP Mudlite Xtra's on and made it through. A 2x4 beat the 4x4s in mud!. So I turned around, wedged myself between two trees, and pulled out the WARN 3.0ci winch. I pulled them through the mud and out with ease. The winch was so powerful, it bent my front rack a little, and banged up the trees.

I own a Honda Foreman ES 450 with a 2500 WARN Winch. My friends and I were mudding one weekend and I was the only one that didn't get stuck. The WARN winch got a workout pulling out five ATV's over and over. Then one of my buddies tried the mud hole with his Toyota 4X4. Needless to say he stuck it. No one thought I would pull him out with my Foreman and WARN winch but they were wrong. I will never own another winch but WARN! Thank you for a great winch.

When I first got my WARN winch put on my Kawasaki 650 Brute Force, I knew I would use it, but I did not really know how it was going to save my life. I was with my 87 year old friend that I have hog hunted with for the past 6 years. He and I use hounds to hunt feral hogs in VanZandt county, Texas. One fall day we were hunting a cleared right of way that had been cleared for a new pipeline from Lake Fork to Dallas. The Netches River coming from Lake Towakani ran through this pipeline. Construction crews had to go through the river to continue the pipeline. Well, Murphy's law won and the dogs struck a huge boar on the other side of the river. I had crossed the river many times before on my four-wheeler and drove off in the water where I usually cross and about halfway across the river, my four-wheeler died. Thank the Lord, that if floated, due to the air in my tires. I immediately got to the front of the ATV and unhooked the winch and put it in the free spin mode. I swam to the bank as my four-wheeler was going down river and managed to attach the winch to a pipe on the bank. I swam back to my four-wheeler as the cable reached the spool and flipped the switch to lock. I pushed the in and me and four-wheeler on battery power alone began to go back upriver to the bank. I was never so glad in all of my life to have a WARN winch. WARN, not only did you save my four-wheeler but you saved my life. My Buddy "Cotten" said he thought I was a goner for sure. Thank you WARN!
